Making Money by Day as a Sweetheart, Roasting the Whole City at Midnight

By day, she's the sweet shop owner: gentle, ambitious, and independent. At two in the morning, she becomes someone else: wild-haired, dressed in red, and ready to beat up anyone she sees. No one in the city dares cross her.

Jiang Haochen, reborn and content to coast through life, has only one special talent: winning prizes from claw machines. A woman named Su Xiaomeng moves into the apartment downstairs and opens a sweet shop. Long, straight black hair, a low ponytail, and a smile that makes his ears burn. She says she wants to build a nationwide chain and that making money shouldn't be called hard work. Jiang Haochen thinks he's done for: he seems to have fallen for her.

Until that late night. The elevator stops on the thirteenth floor, and Su Xiaomeng rushes in and pins him against the wall, beating him up. Golden eyes, red clothes, and a mouth full of “you sick pervert.” One person, two faces.

Her father explains: it's a family curse. Every night from two to five, she transforms into Lingxi, a girl who was sacrificed five hundred years ago. She goes wild, mouths off, and becomes incredibly strong, then forgets everything once morning comes.

Jiang Haochen takes a special part-time job as her nighttime caretaker. By day, he makes sweets with the clear-headed, gentle Su Xiaomeng, works on brand collaborations, and helps expand the business. At night, “mad Lingxi” drags him to raid the convenience store for snacks, bask in the moonlight on the rooftop, and dance with her in the park. Gradually, he realizes that the mad girl who beats up everyone she meets simply longs for someone to remember her name.

But the curse's countdown has already begun.

He will forget Su Xiaomeng's face, forget the cup of lemon tea from their first meeting, forget who he ever loved.

Su Xiaomeng clutches his collar, tears landing on the back of his hand. “I won't let you forget.”

A diary bound with red string, fighting against memories that are fading away.
