Algorithms on the Left, Marriage on the Right

“Want to get our marriage license? My family’s on my case.”

“Sure. I’m also competing for a technical VP position.”

A marriage of convenience binds Zhou Yu and Chen Yue, two strangers at ByteDance Technology. By day, she is a cool-headed, incisive product manager in commercialization, while he is one of the technical reviewers whose approval her project must win. By night, they return to the same rented two-bedroom apartment, the most familiar of roommates and a contract couple bound by a prenuptial agreement. Then, on a crucial project, his technical team blocks her product proposal, while her promotion report needs his signature and endorsement. The marriage that began as a calculated arrangement starts generating bugs no one can predict.
