Crayon Shin-chan: The Nohara Detective Story

Twenty years later, Kasukabe’s “idiot” and “elite” have become the craziest detective duo at the police station.

Nohara Shinnosuke (23): The police station’s resident troublemaker. He dances the bare-bottomed alien dance at work and solves cases by “sniffing out curry” or “playing dumb,” yet his case-solving rate is absurdly high. He’s a laid-back genius with an instinct for the job.

Kazama Toru (23): An elite detective who wears thin-framed glasses and specializes in criminal profiling and forensic medicine. On the surface, he dislikes Shin-chan so much he wants to quit, but behind the scenes he secretly tutors him and helps him out of trouble. He’s tsundere to the core.

“Kazama~ Let’s go catch the bad guys together!”

“Idiot! Don’t go charging in on your own!”

From instant-noodle buddies at the police academy to partners sharing a home and risking their lives together; from silly little cases to serial murders, from police corruption to dark revenge, they fight back-to-back, tearing away Kasukabe’s peaceful facade with instinct and reason.

At the bedside, Kazama scolds him, eyes red: “Don’t die, you idiot! Who am I supposed to be partners with if you’re dead?”

Beneath the cherry blossoms, Shin-chan grins. “Here’s to the next thirty years!”

Kazama smiles helplessly. “Idiot, I mean for life.”
