The Red Paper Rules of the Mountain Village: Break Them and Die

Every step brings a new shock, every step a fatal trap. There is no way out alive. I accidentally stumbled into the isolated ancient village of Lost Souls and found it governed by a whole village's worth of bizarre red-paper rules. Don't open the door to a midnight knock. The locust tree must never bow its head. Never meet the gaze of someone in red. Never touch the red cakes. Neither the villagers nor the livestock are human, and folk taboos are everywhere. Break a rule and you die. With the only ability capable of breaking the deadlock, I turn the rules against the entire haunted village and uncover the thousand-year-old secret behind its sealed-off mountain.
