Seeing Spring: Please Don’t Leave Me

Du Siqiu, who has a blood disorder, transfers to Linjiang High School and meets Xia Zhiyu. They first meet at sixteen, and their story begins. The male lead seems like an aloof, untouchable heartthrob who dislikes girls, but is actually devoted, sensitive, and fragile. Xia Zhiyu x the female lead, Du Siqiu, seems delicate and frail but is actually resilient and prickly as a jasmine flower. The spring breeze was gentle and fresh, and Du Siqiu became Xia Zhiyu’s deskmate. At first, Xia Zhiyu paid her no mind. Quiet and out of place among those around her, she was always alone, so Xia Zhiyu reached out his hand. He said, “Du, would you like to be friends?” Later, Du Siqiu noticed that Xia Zhiyu bought two bottles of milk every morning before school. It turned out he had low blood sugar. Du Siqiu sometimes helped him take notes, while Xia Zhiyu helped her with math. Their relationship grew closer and closer. But with very little time left, Du Siqiu eventually took a leave of absence and wrote him a letter: “Xia, I want to go see somewhere else.” The second male lead spent his whole life tending graves. Before the female lead died, she donated her heart to the third male lead, who had heart disease. The third male lead had heart disease. It was tragic, wasn’t it? But later, the male lead forgot the female lead, because the person he married knew there had always been someone else in his heart and maliciously caused a car accident. And before the girl who bullied the female lead got married, the third female lead sent the female lead’s family an invitation. Printed on the back of the red envelope were the words: “Du Siqiu, I’m so glad you’re dead. Xia Zhiyu married me. Though mountains and rivers lie between us, through wind and rain, his heart has never changed. He’ll never love you. The dead can’t hear what I say, so I gave this to your brother. He won’t be around much longer either. The secret crush of youth must eventually say goodbye. You were only ever passing through.” To youth, to secret crushes, and to the time we spent together.
