The Marquis’s Estate Calls Off the Engagement? Sorry, I Make Ten Thousand Taels a Day

He transmigrates to the Tang dynasty as the eldest legitimate son of the Pingjiang Marquis’s household, a young man despised by everyone.

His own father believes a charlatan’s lies, strips him of his status as heir, and casts him out with nothing, sending him to the bitterly cold northwest.

Everyone expects him to die in the sands. Luckily, he binds himself to the Tycoon Territory System!

For every additional person in his territory, one tael of silver is deposited automatically each day, and he has to spend it all!

A poor border county has only ten thousand refugees? Ding! Ten thousand taels of silver deposited today. Spend it now!

As refugees pour in, Ji Xingzhou’s daily allowance skyrockets to one hundred thousand, then a million taels. There’s no way he can spend it all!

To complete his spending missions, he has no choice but to go all out on infrastructure and improve people’s lives.

“I’ll take in all your land and charge no rent. Come work for me and you’ll get three meat dishes a day. I’ll pave every road in the city with gold bricks!”

A year later, a Turkic army bears down on the border, only to be blown to smithereens by the red-coated cannons atop the city walls.

Frugal Li Shimin sees rats running around the imperial treasury, then takes one look at the luxury of Ji Xingzhou’s territory and rushes over with his officials in the middle of the night to mooch off him.

Meanwhile, the entire marquis’s household that once drove Ji Xingzhou out watches as even the servants who empty the night soil at the Ji residence wear silk and brocade. They regret it so bitterly their guts turn green!
