After Taking the Scriptures in Tang Sanzang's Place, the Incense Maker Is Always Imprisoned by Villains

He is so completely gone that they cannot find even a single strand of his hair. The Buddha calculates with his fingers, then raises a hand and points. Chen Er, the Jade Emperor's beloved little perfumer, becomes the new pilgrim on the journey to obtain the scriptures. At the Buddha's command, Guanyin comes to Heaven to ask the Jade Emperor to lend her someone. The Jade Emperor is reviewing memorials. Hearing this, he looks up at Taibai Jinxing beside him. “Taibai, go fetch Chen Er.” Taibai Jinxing bows and replies, “Your Majesty, didn't you tell the perfumer to get lost?” The Jade Emperor smiles at Guanyin. “What a pity, Great One. Chen Er isn't here.” Guanyin smiles faintly. “No matter. The perfumer will be back in the time it takes one stick of incense to burn.” The Jade Emperor's face darkens. Guanyin appears not to notice. Meanwhile, Chen Er is making incense in the inner hall. “...” With no other choice, she sneaks out through the back door. Just as she is about to leave through the Southern Heavenly Gate, her body turns around against her will. When the Jade Emperor sees Chen Er enter through the hall doors, his face darkens even further. Guanyin, however, smiles more broadly. To prevent the new pilgrim from mysteriously disappearing as well, Lingshan once again sends Guanyin to negotiate with the Jade Emperor. They borrow Nezha, Marshal of the Central Altar, and Yang Jian, the True Lord Erlang, to travel alongside the original escort, Sun Wukong, and protect the pilgrim. Chen Er reluctantly sets off to obtain the scriptures with the three of them. Nezha, Yang Jian, and Sun Wukong, on the other hand, are quite happy to follow Chen Er. Something seems a little off about this journey to obtain the scriptures, but Chen Er can't figure out what.
