New streamer Yang Linchuan moves into Room 404, the most haunted apartment in the city, hoping to make a name for himself.
Taped to the inside of the door is a yellowed sheet of paper bearing five eerie “Tenant Rules”:
1. You must lock the door every night at 3:22 a.m.
2. If you hear someone in the stairwell counting “1, 2, 3...,” never answer.
3. At exactly 4:00 a.m., look in the mirror and say, “I’m still here.”
4. If you see another “you,” kill it before your heart stops beating.
5. The last rule is obscured by bloodstains and impossible to read.
Yang Linchuan smiles at the livestream camera. “Everyone, hit follow. I’m going to break every one of these rules tonight.”
That night, a million viewers across the city witness the horror unleashed when the rules are broken. The counting in the stairwell draws closer and closer. His reflection begins moving differently from him, and a pale hand slowly pushes open the door that should have been locked...
But when the real “it” appears behind Yang Linchuan, he pulls a modified Gatling gun (water gun) out of his backpack and spins around, firing a full barrage. “Bro, didn’t you know? In the face of traffic, gods and ghosts are all servants!”
The livestream chat goes wild.
Everyone thinks it’s an elaborate stunt.
Only Yang Linchuan knows the water gun isn’t loaded with water. It’s filled with a bottle of silver liquid he found under the bed in Room 404, labeled “Special Supply of the Underworld.”
He has barely escaped the haunted building when a mysterious private message arrives on his phone:
“Congratulations on passing the tutorial. The coordinates for the next ‘haunted building’ have been sent. The rules won’t repeat.”
