The Hell Judge in the Mortal World

Jiang Zhi, Hell’s chief judge, was cast down to the human world by the Heavenly Court after one “excessively harsh sentence.” She took possession of an illegitimate daughter of a wealthy family who had been bullied to death. Reborn with the Eyes of Hell’s Judgment, she could see the measure of a person’s sins and wield the power to control life and death and read memories. One hundred cases were the price of her return to her rightful place; one top-tier lawyer became her anchor in the human world. Shen Du was a criminal defense lawyer with a perfect record. Gentle and refined on the surface, he was actually calculating and obsessive. Three years ago, he accepted a check from a pharmaceutical company, leaving twelve patients without fair compensation. He chose to become her accomplice, not to atone, but because he wanted to “run away to a place where someone can judge me.” From school bullying to international human trafficking, from livestreamed trials to forcing an entire city to watch, they used human law to clear the way and Hell’s justice to deliver judgment. When all one hundred cases were complete and her hair had turned white, he finally discovered the truth: a thousand years ago, she had been the judge who tried him, and he was the white-clad young man who had gone through ninety-nine reincarnations after she wrongly convicted him. “Whether you’re human or ghost, I’ve chosen you.” “You’ll go to Hell.” “Then I’ll go.”
