What do you mean the zombies are driving tanks and mounting machine guns to infect you? This is combined-arms warfare!
The apocalypse hits, and zombies break out.
Everyone else: time freeze, time rewind, reality alteration, causality manipulation, common-sense alteration, control over all things, time jumps, ancient evil gods...
Me: vehicle upgrades.
It’s just...
Have you ever seen a zombie that can cover a hundred miles in a single step? You finally put some distance between you, and in just two steps it’s right in your face, infecting you.
In our apocalypse, that kind of zombie barely counts as a minor monster.
The nastier ones are still to come: a broodmother that can make someone pregnant and give birth to zombie babies just by making eye contact. It doesn’t matter whether the target is male or female, human or zombie. It lets the zombies reproduce on their own.
Then there are zombies that can make missiles and machine guns with their bare hands, arming entire heavy-firepower units all by themselves.
And zombies that can launch themselves into space like satellites to provide GPS tracking for the horde?
Good grief, Your Zombieness, aren’t you a little too nasty? How is anyone supposed to play without a nerf? You might as well infect everyone!
It’s fine. We humans have supermen too. We can keep up with you when it comes to cheating.
What do you mean a superpowered human can get infected, turn into a zombie, and still keep their awakened ability?
It’s fine. If I can’t beat you head-on, I’ll wait until I’ve developed. Just wait until I upgrade my RV into a galaxy battleship. Then we’ll have our own Noah’s Ark, and we can take the survivors into space to find a new home.
What do you mean you saw an octopus head in the mad whispers of the starry sky?
The apocalypse is a grand stage. If your cheat is too weak, you’d better stay away. You’re not even enough to fill the zombies’ teeth.
Zombies without the means to defend themselves, zombies that need tricks, zombies that need a boost, zombies who can’t make one life last:
The whole thing is a grind and has no point.
