Great Tang: I Rejected Princess Gaoyang, and My Puzzles Drove the Officials Mad

Lu Heng transmigrates to the Tang Dynasty and becomes the only heir to the Duke of Dingguo’s household.

He only wants to live a life of leisure and luxury, but from the start, he’s thrown into a death cell over an imperial exam question leak. He’s due to be executed tomorrow!

At the brink of death, Lu Heng fires back with “linked exam questions” and “modern logical paradoxes” from a thousand years in the future.

One question sends the city’s scholars into a frenzy on the spot.

Two questions leave the Five Great Clans utterly rattled!

Even Li Shimin is left scratching his head, crying, “This boy is a monster! Let him out at once!”

After Lu Heng clears his name, Li Shimin is overjoyed and immediately issues an imperial decree betrothing the unruly Princess Gaoyang to him.

Knowing the princess’s notorious history of infidelity, Lu Heng’s face turns green on the spot. He bangs his head against the floor of the Golden Hall and cries,

“Your Majesty! I have a terminal illness and fear I won’t live long. I would never dare hold the princess back. Please annul the betrothal!”

Li Shimin: ?

Princess Gaoyang: ???

What’s wrong with me? You’d rather defy an imperial decree and go build the Great Wall than marry me?!

To save himself, Lu Heng uses modern medical techniques to pull Empress Zhangsun back from the brink when she falls critically ill, astonishing the entire court.

From then on, the proud Princess Gaoyang chases him everywhere. “Lu Heng, you stop right there! You’re not calling off this marriage today!”

The gentle Princess Changle secretly falls for him, while sweet little Xizi clings to him every day and calls him brother-in-law.

Lu Heng sighs. “I really just want to do nothing. Please, princesses, leave me alone!”
