A Wild Pond Leads to an Underground River: The Angler's Broken Rod and Downfall

In a remote mountain pond where no one has stocked fish, where could the fish have come from?

It turns out the wild pond connects to an underground river, which in turn flows to the sea.

Those with sincerity and determination catch sea fish; those who treat life like a game catch freshwater fish...

Yu Xing, a graduate of a top university, went to a remote mountain and leased a wild pond.

All because one day, he lost himself in that pond, became obsessed, and got drawn into its game...

One day, two anglers came to Fish Signal Fishing Grounds.

One was the famous “Bait King Chen,” and the other was Jiang Xiaoyu, a beautiful angler.

“You finally came,” Bait King Chen said.

“I've been looking for you for a long time, and waiting for you just as long,” Jiang Xiaoyu said.

“You may be disappointed,” Bait King Chen said.

“If I thought I'd be disappointed, I wouldn't have come,” Jiang Xiaoyu said.

“I could beat you,” Bait King Chen said.

“I know,” Jiang Xiaoyu said.

“But this time, I could choose not to beat you,” Bait King Chen said.

“Why?” Jiang Xiaoyu asked.

“Because I don't want you to lose completely,” Bait King Chen said.

“But one day, I'll beat you,” Jiang Xiaoyu said.

“Then I suppose I have to accept your challenge,” Bait King Chen said.

“You have no choice,” Jiang Xiaoyu said.

“Cast your line,” Bait King Chen said.

“My rod is already in my hands,” Jiang Xiaoyu said.

“I've already got a fish on the line,” Bait King Chen said.

“When did you cast?” Jiang Xiaoyu asked.

“When you cast doesn't matter. What matters is hooking a fish!” Bait King Chen laughed.

“Whether you hook a fish isn't what matters. What matters is reeling it in and taking it home to win...” Yu Xing cut in from the sidelines...

Bait King Chen swept his rod and played the fish... The harder Bait King Chen pulled, the harder the fish in the water fought back.

It felt less like Bait King Chen was fishing and more like the fish in the pond was fishing for him...
