An asteroid from beyond Earth was on course to strike the planet, but it was successfully intercepted and blown apart within the Earth-Moon system. Its fragments transmigrated through the atmosphere and scattered across the globe in just one week. This was the origin of the Shipgirl Cores.
Complete fragments are called Shipgirl Cores, while incomplete ones are known as Auxiliary Cores. By adding various materials to a core, it can be activated to bring a beautiful girl to life. These girls can connect to the pocket dimensions they carry and summon the spaceships already encoded in their cores. Only a complete core can summon a fully equipped ship, however, and its holder serves as something akin to a captain.
Incomplete Auxiliary Cores can also bring girls to life, but are classified according to the functions they retain: Firepower Cores, Detection Cores, Energy Cores, and so on. Shipgirls born from these damaged cores need to connect through their permissions to shipgirls with complete cores to gain access to the various sections of a ship. Meanwhile, the humans who activate the cores undergo brain development and awaken corresponding “Admiral Networks.” Depending on the core type, these take the form of Command Networks, Firepower Networks, Detection Networks, Energy Networks, and so on. Strengthening a network improves the shipgirls’ attributes.
Humans and shipgirls work together, each performing their own role, to unlock a ship’s full capabilities.
It was this system that ushered humanity into a grand age of spacefaring.
