The Eastern Palace Falls: The Commander’s Road to Redemption

[Love and hate, sweet after angst, palace intrigue]

Seven years ago, the Eastern Palace fell overnight. Crown Prince Xiao Heng’s entire family was murdered, and he was the only one lucky enough to escape.

Everyone said the powerful Su clan, which held sway over the court, was behind the massacre.

Seven years later, Xiao Heng returns to the imperial capital under an assumed name. He lays his plans carefully, vowing to uproot the entire Su clan.

The first person he intends to deal with is the Su family’s most powerful legitimate son, Su Yan, Commander of the Embroidered Uniform Guard.

Clad in a flying-fish robe and armed with an embroidered spring sword, that man has slaughtered countless people and shown no mercy. He is the living King of Hell, feared throughout the capital.

Xiao Heng believes they are bound only by a blood feud, unaware that through countless nights when he barely escaped death, someone had been shielding him from the storm in the shadows.

Su Yan believes he can keep that secret forever, unaware that after so many clashes, his frozen heart has already melted for the other man.

“I hate you to the bone, yet love you to the marrow.”

“If you want revenge, I’ll stand before you and let you cut and stab me. If you want the throne, I’ll clear every obstacle from your path.”

When a blood feud meets unwavering love, when the long, dark night meets the last glimmer of light,

is this love born of hatred a doomed bond, or was it destined from the start?
