Cold City of the Apocalypse: From the Start, I Pick Up a Female Reporter

After the cataclysm, the world enters a long era of extreme cold. The old world collapses, resources run dry, and cities are divided by towering walls. Inside the walls are the Safe Zones; outside lies the Frozen Wasteland.

Lu Chen, a young man who crawled out of a heap of corpses in the Frozen Wasteland, enters the Seventh Safe City with a resident ID of dubious origin and becomes the lowest-ranking temporary enforcement officer in the Patrol Office.

At first, all he wants is to survive, save money, get official status, and find his younger sister, who disappeared years ago.

But a case involving a frozen corpse draws him into a world of black-market drugs, fuel, human trafficking, and power struggles among the Safe City's elite.

In an age with no truly good people, Lu Chen slowly comes to understand:

Fire isn't meant to light up the world.

It's something you hold in your hands to keep the darkness from swallowing you.
