In the Name of the People: Gao Yuliang Is Stunned from the Start

Shen Qingzhou transmigrates into the world of a mash-up drama and becomes a director at Handong University’s History Office.

With no connections and no System, everyone thinks he’s just a harmless “potted plant.”

This is Handong, where Gao Yuliang maneuvers at every turn, Qi Tongwei dreams of beating the heavens, and Li Dakang passes the buck while chasing GDP growth.

Even Maiyuqiang, the fishmonger from neighboring Jinghai, wants a cut of Handong’s sand and gravel business.

Facing this game of chess between titans, Shen Qingzhou lifts his thermos and blows the tea leaves aside. “Go on, fight. The fiercer the better. It makes for a great show.”

With the perspective of an all-knowing spectator, he settles into a life of watching the drama, enjoying the gossip, and casually setting traps.

Qi Tongwei tries to drag him into the mess, only to have every last one of his secrets exposed;

Zhao Ruilong tries to force the school to make way for redevelopment, and the next day, the business empire he’s so proud of collapses across the board;

Gao Qiqiang has just crossed the border with his men when a casual remark from Shen Qingzhou scares him into buying an overnight train ticket back to Jinghai.

Only when the storm over Handong finally breaks and the whole game is overturned do bigwigs like Sha Ruijin and Hou Liangping realize in horror, sweating profusely...

That the young “plant” who spends every day drinking tea and reading the paper in the History Office is the most deeply concealed player in this grand game of chess!
