Southern Archives and the Nine Gates: An Ancient Pact of Mountains and Seas

On the night Zhang Haixia came back from the dead, the Southern Archives finally gathered around one table a group of people who should have gone their separate ways.

But before the warmth of their reunion could settle in, Zhang Qishan’s secret letter arrived at their door: a hundred soldiers from Unit 401 had vanished, leaving behind only an old seal belonging to the Southern Archives.

Dark currents stir once more among Changsha’s Nine Gates. A cold case buried by time drags Zhang Haiqi, Zhang Hailou, Zhang Haixia, and two apprentices back into the fray.

Whose name is hidden in the Tower Between Worlds? Was Zhang Haixia’s resurrection truly a return, or another sacrifice written long ago?

The old files remain unclosed, and old friends reunite. The Southern Archives join forces with the Nine Gates to honor an old pact that spans mountains, seas, life, and death.
