Chasing His Wife to the Ends of the Earth | Childhood Friends | Secret Love Becomes Mutual
She was the little girl from a family that had been close to his for generations, a “burden” his family had foisted on him to tutor. He found her annoying, thought she was stupid, and hated having to teach her everything.
At university, he met a perfect senior: accomplished, independent, and from a family well matched with his. He thought she was the kind of person he ought to love.
But when that “burden” truly disappeared from his life, and he saw her smiling at another guy, he went mad.
He rushed medicine across the city, learned how to court her, and wrote code to draw the lilacs she loved, hiding “I love you” in the moments when their petals glowed. On the day of the basketball game, he dropped to one knee in front of everyone.
Later, a friend asked him, “Didn’t you always think she wasn’t right for you?”
He replied, “That was the biggest lie I ever told.”
From “big brother” to “Cheng Yanbai,” from “not right for me” to “I can’t live without her.” Childhood friends, from school uniforms to wedding gowns. After more than a decade of slow simmering, their love has finally come to a boil.
Starting from their first meeting in the second grade of junior high school, they wrote about graduating from college, moving to the south, getting married, and traveling. Sang Yu and Cheng Yanbai continue to live in another world - he will continue to write code, she will continue to draw, they will quarrel and then reconcile, and Xiao Jiu will become Lao Jiu. The days will be dull, but not boring. Because he is here and she is here. Thank you all for opening this book. The name of this book is "Simmering Summer", which means slow-cooking, and the story begins in summer. The same is true for their relationship - starting from tutoring, delivering things, sending messages, taking the subway for forty minutes to deliver milk tea, simmering bit by bit until it becomes delicious and inseparable. I hope you can also find the person you "can't live without". It doesn't matter if you can't find it, just love yourself first.
I read this book for the second time and I still like it very much. I have read all three books and I like it very much. I also like this kind of ordinary and heart-warming text without any bloody plot. It is very healing.
