He Doesn't Know I'm Pregnant

Five years ago, I found out I was pregnant.

His phone wouldn’t connect, and my messages wouldn’t go through.

His friend came to tell me: he was with someone else, and I should get rid of the baby.

I signed the C-section consent form alone and raised my son by myself.

Five years later, at our class reunion, he got drunk and grabbed me, saying, “I never abandoned you.”

When he woke up, he’d forgotten everything and started shamelessly chasing after me.

He doesn’t know the five-year-old boy is his son.

And he doesn’t know he isn’t a scumbag: he spent two years in prison looking at my photos.
