The Record of the Dao's Corrosion of Heaven

Su Xuanqing, 20, is a good-for-nothing in Luoxia City who works as a “Dao Pattern tester.” No matter what Dao Pattern is inscribed on him, it sinks without a trace.

For twenty years, cultivators have used him to test new Dao Patterns more than seven hundred times, and he has endured nothing but scorn.

Then, during a test of the Riftspace Pattern, the Heavenly Vein Inverse Pattern sleeping within him is activated. He discovers that he is no good-for-nothing at all.

He is the last surviving descendant of Su Zhi, the “Supreme Dao Pattern Architect” from 3,700 years ago, and within him lies the key to rewriting the fate of the Heavenly Dao.

It turns out that 3,700 years ago, Su Zhi designed the Inverse Entropy Dao Pattern System in an attempt to repair the aging Heavenly Dao.

But on the eve of civilization’s self-destruction, when an Entropy-Dissipating Bomb exploded, he split the Inverse Pattern into seven veins: Heaven, Earth, Water, Fire, Wind, Thunder, and Space.

He encoded them across seven bloodlines, waiting for someone in a later age to gather them and finish what he had begun.

Su Xuanqing sets off north, gathering the bearers of the Inverse Patterns along the way as he fights the “Demolition Office,” an organization bent on blowing the Heavenly Dao to pieces.

With only seven days left on the countdown to the Corrosion Era, he must complete the resonance of the seven veins and enter the Heavenly Dao’s core, the “Root Pattern.”

There, he must make a choice that will decide the fate of all civilization: repair the Heavenly Dao, or blow everything apart.

In the end, Su Xuanqing chooses to repair it. He uses the resonance of the seven Inverse Pattern veins to replace the Heavenly Dao’s Corrosion Era mechanism,

saving the world from the Great Collapse three years in the future. His cultivation regresses, but he doesn’t care.

Because the world no longer needs the Inverse Pattern to repair it.
