You Asked Me to Livestream as a Demoted Poet, So I Wrote Bring in the Wine

(The rating just came out, and it’ll rise later.)

Sun Caiqian transmigrates into a parallel world that’s a cultural wasteland and becomes a travel streamer, livestreaming as a poet banished from court.

At first, viewers click into his livestream purely out of curiosity, but after watching for a few minutes, they can’t bring themselves to leave.

“This streamer is way too good at making people feel appreciated. He thanks viewers for their gifts in classical Chinese, and never repeats the same line.”

“Wait, why the hell is a banished poet dancing the ‘Subject Three’ dance with a straight face?”

Just as the whole internet assumes he’s only a comedian putting on a silly show, someone sends him five Carnival gifts and asks him to improvise a poem.

“What? My good sir, you say your name is Wang Lun?”

“The Peach Blossom Pool is a thousand feet deep, yet it cannot match Wang Lun’s affection for me...”

From then on, Sun Caiqian’s livestream turns into a grand cultural showcase.

Viewer: “Sir, write a poem about love!”

Sun Caiqian: “The wide sea is nothing compared to the waters I have seen; no clouds can rival those over Mount Wu.”

Viewer: “Sir, sing a farewell song!”

Sun Caiqian: “Beyond the long pavilion, beside the ancient road, green grass stretches to the sky...”

When an old scholar from the Classical Poetry Association enters the livestream and declares that his poems “break the rules of prosody” and “are unfit for high society,”

Sun Caiqian smiles faintly.

“Have you not seen the Yellow River’s waters descending from the heavens...”
