Great Ming: I Became the Richest Man Through Corruption, and Old Zhu Begs Me Not to Die

In the third year of Hongwu, peace reigned throughout the land.

Su Che, the second most fearsome man in all of Huaisi and the Duke Who Guards the Nation of the Great Ming, knew all too well that “when the birds are gone, the good bow is put away.” After awakening the [System for Spoiled Aristocrats Who Can't Be Bothered], he promptly quit working and pretended to be dead. All he wanted was to bully men, seduce women, and listen to songs in the pleasure quarters, hoping the old Zhu would strip him of his title and office so he could retire in his hometown.

But he never imagined that Zhu Yuanzhang could hear his thoughts!

Old Zhu had planned to put his arrogant, powerful generals in their place. But as soon as he entered court, he heard:

[Man, Old Zhu's life is rough. His wife died young, and his beloved Biao died too. He finally built the Great Ming, and now that dog Hu Weiyong is about to tear it to pieces. I'd better resign and run before it's too late.]

Zhu Yuanzhang broke out in a cold sweat and immediately declared, “Issue my decree! The Duke Who Guards the Nation has rendered great service. Reward him with ten thousand taels of gold and ten beauties from Jiangnan!”

Su Che was stunned, so he became even more outrageous in his efforts to get himself killed.

Then one day, Su Che saw Xu Miaoyun, Princess Anqing, and the others blocking his bedroom door, and completely lost it.

“Chongba, I really don't want to do this anymore. Please, have some self-respect!”

Zhu Yuanzhang clung tightly to Su Che's leg. “Xianchang, I've found you ten wives. Please, take a concubine! Just stay, and I'll give you half the Ming empire!”
