The Great Jing Dynasty's Top Child Scholar

After transmigrating to the Great Jing dynasty, he becomes a twelve-year-old orphan from a poor family, cast out by his clan. His father died young, his mother is frail, their five mu of poor farmland has been seized, and he isn’t even allowed to sit the entry-level imperial examination. The clan leader calls him “a curse who killed his own father,” while the scions of noble families laugh at him for being “a peasant dreaming of climbing the social ladder.” Everyone is waiting to see him starve to death in his broken-down shack. But they don’t know This boy has the essence of a thousand years of imperial examinations in his mind, and the wisdom of political intrigue from past and present in his heart. At twelve, he takes first place in the county-level entry examination, stunning the entire county. He wins one examination after another, crushing every young noble scion and becoming the youngest licentiate since the founding of Great Jing. Those who bullied, humiliated, scorned, and looked down on him will one day have to watch him rise to the very top of the imperial court. (Reader’s note: A serious historical drama with a brisk pace, a touching mother-son bond, and a strong teacher-student relationship. The face-slapping never makes the characters stupid.)
