Back from Prison! Little Did They Know I Had a 100 Million Trump Card

Clang! The iron door slammed shut behind him. Shen Mo stood on the detention center's concrete floor, wearing a thin padded jacket marked with the number 097. Outside, firecrackers crackled as the New Year approached. He had been locked up over a gambling debt that wasn't his. The man who owed him money was outside enjoying New Year's Eve dinner. The person who had put him away was counting their commission behind his back. And his own younger brother had cited a mistake he'd made at age ten in the legal complaint: “He has been ill-behaved since childhood and has a history of taking other people's property.” No one knew he still had one card to play: 120 million. Before going bankrupt, he'd followed a woman's advice and entrusted the money to the brother he trusted most. Five years had passed, and not a cent had been touched. It wasn't that he couldn't pay them back. He just refused to accept the debt. Ten days. Just ten days. Once he got out, everyone who owed him would pay it all back, with interest. “Don't touch it, even if you die.” Those words saved his life, and sealed theirs.
