I've lived through too many lifetimes. So many that even I can't keep count.
Every time I open my eyes, it's the same world, the same gods and Buddhas, and the same relentless hunt to the death.
I've clubbed the Jade Emperor from behind, burned the scriptures library on Spirit Mountain, smacked the Buddha on the forehead with a brick, killed Guangmu Heavenly King, beaten every god and Buddha in the heavens, and even stewed that stupid dog, the Howling Celestial Dog, more than three thousand times.
I've played this broken world through, and I'm sick of it.
That is, until the madman wearing a monkey mask showed up.
He called himself Sun Wukong and said he would take me to Lingtai Fangcun Mountain for a little excitement.
Excitement?
Right in front of me, he smashed Tang Sanzang's head with a single strike!
He wrecked Zhu Bajie!
He even killed Sha Seng!
With blood splashed across my face, he just laughed and said, “This is called saving them.”
In the already-dead Xieyue Sanxing Cave, I saw the most spine-chilling sight of my life:
Forty-nine blood-red coffins floated in the darkness.
Each one was engraved with my name.
Each one held another version of me.
And inside the jade coffin at the very center was something that should never have existed...
The monkey-masked man told me, “Open it, and you'll find out who you are.”
But the coffin keeper whispered in my ear, “Open it, and you will...”
But so what if I beat up Heaven and Spirit Mountain? It turns out I've never even seen clearly who I am!
