I Played the Obedient Mistress to the Disgraced Crown Prince, Then Got Rich

In her previous life, Su Jiaojiao pretended to be the person who had saved Pei Tinghan, the disgraced crown prince, in order to gain wealth and status. She became his pampered mistress while he was down on his luck.

She was vain and greedy, throwing her weight around and wasting the last of the money he had set aside to recruit soldiers.

Then his true first love found him, and Pei Tinghan returned to the Eastern Palace. He threw Su Jiaojiao into a mass grave in a tattered straw mat, where she was savaged to death by wild dogs.

She opened her eyes and found herself back in the year when Pei Tinghan was at his lowest, his legs supposedly "crippled."

Su Jiaojiao knew exactly what kind of person she was: greedy, afraid of death, and not very bright.

To avoid her gruesome fate, she stopped acting out, pawned her fake hairpin, and rolled up her sleeves to brew medicine for Pei Tinghan. All she wanted was to secretly save up a hundred taels for travel expenses, then fake her death and run away.

Just as she had finally saved enough banknotes and was preparing to slip away when his true first love came calling, the gates burst open under the force of the Imperial Guards.

Pei Tinghan, who should have been crippled, stood before thousands of troops in his python robe, slowly crushing her bundle in his hand.

His eyes bloodshot, he held a sharp embroidered spring saber to his own neck. His voice was so humble it seemed to sink into the dirt. "You've been deceiving me all this time. Now that I have money, why won't you keep deceiving me?"
