The Empress Plays It Cool, and the Emperor Panics

While the others compete for favor, she pretends to be sick to avoid the emperor. While they fight for power in the palace, she opens a hot pot restaurant as a side hustle. While they try to climb the ranks by pleasing him, she lazes around in a side hall.

Emperor Zhao Jingming has never met a woman like her. The other consorts can hardly wait to cling to him, but she runs the moment she sees him.

He starts “competing for her favor in reverse”: lavish gifts today, chance encounters tomorrow, then bringing his memorials to her palace to read the day after.

Shen Xiyue sighs. “Your Majesty, could you please stop coming here?”

Zhao Jingming replies, “No. I like watching you run away.”

This is the story of an overworked office drone who transmigrates and just wants to laze around, only to have the emperor chase after her and beg for her affection.

A lighthearted, stress-relieving comedy that turns the rat race on its head.

Anyone who doesn't want to go to work will understand.
