Gu Changfeng was an honest food delivery man. In his eagerness to save someone, he was instead falsely accused. During the ensuing argument, he was pushed down a flight of stairs. When he opened his eyes again, he had transmigrated into the body of the young lord of a cultivation clan.
He possesses a Heavenly Spirit Root, but his family is wiped out. His grandfather burns through his cultivation to help him escape. Wandering in the wilderness, he happens upon Baiyun Sect's recruitment, where his peerless talent earns him a place as a disciple under a Golden Core elder. The elder's daughter falls for him at first sight and protects him from then on.
Gu Changfeng takes the chance to lie flat. On the surface, he hides behind his senior sister's protection, but in secret he makes calculated moves at every turn, taking "living off a woman while still acting like the man in charge" to the extreme.
Then the demonic sect invades, and his senior sister is gravely wounded and on the brink of death. The "freeloading junior brother" who always hid behind her puts on black robes and plays a soul-shattering melody. Three thousand demonic cultivators vanish into dust.
His senior sister stares at him in shock. "I thought all you knew how to do was live off me!"
Gu Changfeng wipes the blood from his flute and smiles warmly. "I had to enjoy the free meals first before stepping in to set the world right."
