About five thousand years ago, human civilization based on life threads reached its peak. The Giant Divine Soldiers were the technological marvels of that era. Humanity forged twelve of them to fight the life beasts, and each was piloted by a Weaver of Fate at the peak of the Heavenly Rank or above.
The Weaver of Stars was the foremost among the Giant Divine Soldier pilots. During years of battle, he discovered something strange about the life beasts: no matter how many humans killed, new ones kept appearing, and their numbers only grew. He theorized that the beasts had a single “source,” from which all the life beasts were born as lesser beings. If the source were destroyed, all the life beasts would perish with it.
He devised a decapitation plan: select the twelve finest Weavers of Fate to form a strike team, pilot Dawn into the heart of the life beasts' lair, and have him destroy their source himself. The Twelve Weavers of Fate, his fellow students at the Spirit Silk Academy, were chosen for the team.
The decapitation plan was set for the final day of the Mythic Era. Piloting Dawn, the Weaver of Stars fought his way into the heart of the life beasts' lair and found the source itself: a behemoth large enough to swallow a city, with a core that was a sphere of light woven from hundreds of thousands of life threads. The Weaver of Stars pierced the sphere. The source of the life beasts was on the verge of death, and the sphere rapidly collapsed, transforming into an object shaped like a loom.
The “loom” sent a thought to the Weaver of Stars: Surrender.
The Weaver of Stars answered by continuing his attack. But what he didn't know was that the Twelve Weavers of Fate had already encountered the loom on the outer perimeter
