Tidepooling: I Inherited the Sea God’s Power and Got an Orca for a Pet

[Making a Fortune by the Sea + Taming Sea Beasts]

Only after Lin Xiazhi died on the operating table did she realize she had been drained by her exploitative parents, used as a stepping stone to secure a bright future for her younger brother.

Reborn in 1978 in a little fishing village, she faced relatives who were about to tie her up in the middle of the night and send her off on a fishing boat with an old widower. Without hesitation, she kicked them to the ground, then stuffed her own younger brother into a sack and tossed him into the pigpen before cutting ties with the family and walking away!

Taking with her the “Sea God’s Treasure Map” space she had unwittingly unlocked in her previous life, Lin Xiazhi went alone to settle on the poorest, most desolate island.

In an era when people ate nothing but coarse-grain pancakes and pickled vegetables, Lin Xiazhi’s daily beachcombing took a dramatic turn:

While everyone else spent half a day digging for clams, she whistled and a group of wild sea otters lined up to bring her premium wild yellow croaker.

While everyone else feared storms when heading out to sea, she rode a mutated giant sea turtle and picked up basin-sized black pearls from the coral reefs on the ocean floor!

With no worries about food or clothing, she even turned the island into her own private Dragon Palace.
