Empresses in the Palace: Mastering the Harem's Fate With Baby Talk

She missed passing her English exam by one point and was so furious she transmigrated.

The System asked which language she wanted, and Lin Tang cried, “Waaah... English!” But the System heard “baby talk.”

From then on, she became the only wet nurse in Empresses in the Palace who could understand what babies were thinking.

Hua Fei's baby wouldn't stop crying, and the imperial physicians were helpless. Lin Tang heard him grumble in his mind: “There's something in my ear, it hurts so much!”

She reached in and pulled it out. The baby smiled, and Hua Fei was stunned. “Who dares lay a hand on my wet nurse? I'll wipe out her entire family!”

When Zhen Huan left the palace, she clasped Lin Tang's hand and entrusted her child to her through tears. “I can only feel at ease if I leave Longyue in your care.”

The Empress tried to harm an imperial heir. Pointing at the pastries, the baby wailed, “There's poison in these! That old witch is trying to kill me!”

Lin Tang immediately reported her, and the Empress died on the spot from sheer rage.

At first, she was the lowliest palace maid in the Laundry Bureau, and all she wanted was to survive in the harem.

Later, she became the “Imperial Child-Rearing Supervisor,” appointed by the Empress Dowager, and consorts from across the harem lined up to ask her to look after their children.

The Emperor fell silent. “Why do all my children listen only to her?”

Lin Tang: “I really wasn't trying to fight for power in the harem, but I can't help it if all the princes and princesses are standing behind me!”
