In 1938, on the eve of the Dongyang Arsenal's westward relocation, technician Zeng Mingyu was ordered to escort seven top-secret blueprints. The first six showed the complete assembly of a rifle. The seventh held the real secret weapon: a rough design for an antitank mine. Whoever could build it could blow the tracks off a Japanese tank with a single mine.
But the seventh blueprint vanished without a trace, and the thief was hiding close by. His fiancée, his mentor: anyone could be a suspect.
This young man, who knew only how to draft designs, was forced to take up a gun and pursue the plans over a thousand miles. He had no idea that the military intelligence service needed them to save lives, Japanese spies wanted them destroyed, and the underworld wanted them in exchange for the fate of an entire city.
The data on a single blueprint became the fuse that would trap everyone in a deadly impasse.
