Officialdom: I'm an Angler, So What's Wrong with Going All Out?

Political scheming + anti-corruption + two equally powerful leads. A proper story about life in government, with no tired formulas or brainless antics.

After five years together, Lin Shen’s girlfriend coldly dumped him on the street. “We’re from different worlds.”

Lin Shen smiled and said nothing. He turned, picked up his fishing rod, and reported to the most out-of-the-way government office he could find.

The powerful families of Qingjiang all thought this young man, who put goji berries in his thermos every day and left work on time to buy groceries, was an easy target they could push around.

That was until his first day on the job, when a runaway truck smashed through the archives’ doors, trying to crush both Lin Shen and a USB drive.

Faced with a ruthless assassin, the usually laid-back Lin Shen sighed and killed him with his bare hands in three seconds.

Then he pulled out an old-fashioned secure phone and dialed a number that went straight to the top of the power structure:

“Grandpa, the fish has taken the bait. Starting today, I’m lifting the lid on Qingjiang.”
