Game Start: Magical Girl

[Magical Girls + Slow Burn + Lighthearted Suffering + Absurdity + RPG + Character Growth + Gaming + Nonhuman Behavior Warning ⚠️]

Han Qiuxue is a homebody gamer living in a small city. She picks up the occasional gaming session with clients and edits videos, but her greatest passion is curling up in front of her computer to play single-player action games.

One day, she receives a mysterious demo called Fight, Start Up, Magical Girl.

The game is weird.

The character is a pink-haired girl as frail as a sheet of paper, with an absurdly short health bar. Her stamina runs out after a couple of rolls, and she can barely cast any spells.

Her only weapon is a battered lantern.

Han Qiuxue stares at it in silence for three seconds.

Then she uses it as a hammer.

From that day on, the magical girl system of another world is subjected to a whole new level of power.

Traditional magical girl: Transform, announce your name, cast your spell, and purge the echoes.

Sakura Aya: Roll, get behind them, block the doorway, swing the lantern, finish them off with a lantern execution.

Traditional magical girl: Please respect the rules of the Gray Zone.

Han Qiuxue: Rules? Can they get you crushed by a floodgate?

Traditional magical girl: Magical girls should embody elegance, hope, love, and miracles.

With tears in her eyes, Sakura Aya hauls an eighty-pound lantern maul and pulls herself up from the monster's corpse.

“Sir… does this count as being a magical girl?”

Han Qiuxue looks at the S-rank score on the screen and nods in satisfaction.

“Of course.”

“Start with the red form.”

“This is a strength-type magical girl.”
