The Empress Has Been Dragged to the Police Station Again and Again

Jiang Yao, empress of the Jiang Kingdom, spent ten years sweeping across the six realms, destined to reign for all eternity. Then, on the very day she destroyed the last of her enemy nations, an arrow from the enemy army struck her …in the butt. People have died in battles since time immemorial, but the empress’s death was downright humiliating. Still, she died in peace. Before her final breath, she saw her silly, fair-skinned empress, who had been by her side since childhood, sprawled over the dragon throne, weeping inconsolably and swearing she would die with her. When she opened her eyes on the road to the underworld, Jiang Yao discovered she hadn’t died after all. Instead, she had transmigrated to the modern world a thousand years in the future, becoming a fake heiress in a wealthy family. On her very first day awake, the real heiress came looking for her. Without a word, Jiang Yao pulled off her belt. She wanted to die and return to her empress so they could keep conquering the world together, but her life was simply too stubborn. She jumped from the thirteenth floor and came away with nothing but a sprained ankle, without even a scratch on her head. She was still wondering whether this world was as damnably fun as her empire when she spotted an old man at a royal banquet. He held a wineglass, wore an impassive expression, and radiated “keep your distance” from head to toe. Drawing on her imperial intuition, honed by a lifetime of reading people, Jiang Yao slapped her thigh. This man was her empress reincarnated! So what was she waiting for? Snatch him and carry him off. She carried him home under cover of darkness. The police car arrived in the middle of the night, and she was in the police station before dawn. Once became twice, and twice became three times. After being hauled into the station three times, Jiang Yao finally coaxed and tricked him into coming home with her. Her empress rolled her eyes and said, “Carry me off again and see what happens.” The empress, no, the emperor, instantly cowered, then tried to deploy her imperial authority in the middle of the night …and that didn’t work either.
