Siheyuan: I Unearthed He Shen's Treasure in the Courtyard

[Siheyuan courtyard + feel-good period drama + anti-hypocrite + Heshen's treasure vault]

Chen Mo transmigrates to a crowded courtyard in Beijing's Qianmen area in 1958. He lives in a drafty side room, eats cornbread and pickles, and as soon as he opens the door, he's greeted by Yi Zhonghai's lectures on morality, Jia Zhangshi's "our family has it so hard," and Xu Damao's "I can't stand the sight of you."

On his first night, he wants to cry. On the second, he digs Heshen out from beneath the heated brick bed.

To be precise, he finds the treasures the corrupt official Heshen hid throughout the capital, along with a wisp of his lingering consciousness left in the space.

"Master, let's sell off the Jia family and trade them for food coupons. This servant knows how to do the math."

"Master, Yi Zhonghai wants you to support him in his old age? Have you lost your mind? We didn't have that rule in the Qing Dynasty."

"Master, back in my day, I could take out ten men like Xu Damao in a single day."

Chen Mo: …Lord Heshen, calm down. We're in the People's Republic of China now.

[A corrupt official in the space, a treasure trove beneath his feet, and an entire era before him. Chen Mo smiled: From today on, this courtyard bears the Chen name.]
