I Asked You to Pay Rent, and You're Settling the Debt with a Hit Song?

Lin Bai transmigrates to a parallel world with less money in his pockets than he could wipe off his face. To avoid sleeping on the streets, he rents a room in a shared apartment, only to discover that his domineering landlady is Su Qingyan, a once-popular young star who has been blacklisted across the internet and shelved by the industry!

One day, so broke she can't even afford instant noodles, Su Qingyan kicks open the spare bedroom door. “Lin Bai! Pay your rent, or I'll throw you out onto the street!”

Lin Bai sighs helplessly. “I'm broke. Can I pay you with a song?”

Su Qingyan sneers. “Pay with a song? What, do you think you're some legendary songwriter?”

But when Lin Bai strums his guitar and hums “Invisible Wings,” Su Qingyan is so stunned that the slipper in her hand drops to the floor.

From then on, the entertainment industry takes a dramatic turn.

His former company: “Blacklist her! Su Qingyan must be blacklisted! Make sure she can't get a single good song!”

The whole internet is stunned. Top stars beg Lin Bai to write songs for them.

Meanwhile, Lin Bai lounges on the sofa, eating fruit. “Su Qingyan, peel them faster. If you keep me happy, I'll make sure you win this year's Golden Melody Award.”

Su Qingyan grits her teeth, but beams all the same. “Right away, Master Lin!”
