I Am Monk Tang Sanzang, and My Senior Brother Is Sun Wukong

After Chen Yi died suddenly, he opened his eyes to find himself transformed into Xuanzang, the monk on the Journey to the West. When others transmigrate, they wake up holding power over the world. When he transmigrates, he gets hellish 996 hours: twelve hours of scripture recitation every day. He also has to walk 108,000 li to deliver KPIs to Spirit Mountain. Chen Yi has had enough. All he wants is to slack off. Until he sees with his own eyes that the incense offerings of mortals turn into the power of their wishes and flow into the Buddha’s golden body, while sanctimonious immortals raise demons to massacre villages, all to force the common people to kneel and worship them. “The Buddhist and Daoist schools are both cut from the same cloth!” Fortunately, the remnant soul of Patriarch Bodhi is still lurking in his mind. From then on, the journey west goes completely off course. While the gods and Buddhas in the heavens wait to reap the rewards of calamities, Tang Sanzang turns all eighty-one trials into experience points for himself. On Spirit Mountain, the Tathagata’s eyelid twitches uncontrollably. “Why is Jin Chanzi’s style starting to look more and more like Bodhi’s did back then?”
