Yang Tao, the Abyssal Prison Demon King who has lived for tens of thousands of years, finds the endless fighting in the Demon Realm unbearably dull. Taking a Demon Realm stone with him, he reincarnates as the worst student at Jiangcheng No. 3 High School.
All he wants is to coast through high school in peace: steal spicy strips from his deskmate, pursue the gentle top student Wang Yueyue, and put the spoiled Li Xiaobao, who is always picking on him, in his place. He just wants to enjoy life as an ordinary high schooler.
But trouble comes looking for him. Xu Xiaohui, the Demon Realm's Holy Maiden, suddenly transfers into his class and immediately demands that he become her servant. His life-bound demon artifact, the Demon Dragon Ring, missing for three thousand years, turns out to be hanging around the neck of a top student in his class. And the Greedy Wolf Demon King, who once betrayed him, has smuggled tens of thousands of demon soldiers into the human world and set up the Ten Thousand Demons Formation to trample humanity.
Forced back into action, Yang Tao prepares for the college entrance exams while taking on one monster after another. He gets a perfect score in math in just over ten minutes, astonishing the whole school; knocks out dozens of thugs single-handedly and makes them his followers; then joins forces with his old nemesis, the Demon Venerable Cang Xuan, to face the world-destroying Demon Lord.
With the loudmouthed Li Xiaobao, Zhu Zhicong, heir to a Taoist legacy, and the proud, sharp-tongued Xu Xiaohui at his side, he dismantles demon formations and clears out the remnants, protecting the simple human warmth he has struggled so hard to find.
He thinks that once the college entrance exams are over, he can finally enjoy a relaxing college life. But the white-clad upperclasswoman in Jiangcheng University's library, a strange single-player game, and the faintly visible wolf-head mark all point to the fact that the Greedy Wolf's scheme is far from over.
