I Married a Poor Old Man, Only to Find Out He's a Tycoon

Lin Guixiang, 58, never imagined she would get married again in this lifetime.

To scrape together a bride price for her good-for-nothing son, she gritted her teeth and agreed to a blind date arranged by her best friend. She married a quiet, taciturn “retired worker.” She figured they’d just share a life together, and every penny saved was a penny earned.

But after they got their marriage certificate, one secret after another came to light. The man who picked her up to go grocery shopping in an old jacket on an electric scooter turned out to be an entrepreneur listed by Forbes.

Everyone thought she was a scheming woman after his money. Only Shen Wanjun knew that what he loved was her kindness, still burning bright despite all the hardships she had endured.

This late-in-life marriage had no grand declarations or dramatic passion, just a bowl of braised pork, a lamp left on at night, and hands that, once clasped, would never let go.
