Water Margin: My Blade Slays Demons and Evil

The night market in Jizhou was packed with people.

Lin Yi was in the middle of a lively street performance when a woman made of paper in the crowd gave him a sinister smile.

After the crowd dispersed, the paper figure was left behind, with a rotting human heart hidden in its belly.

Inscribed on the heart were the words: “Victim number thirty-seven, son of Instructor Lin.”

Liangshan isn't the Hall of Loyalty and Righteousness.

Liangshan is alive.

The only clue his father, Lin Chong, left behind pointed to a colossal lie:

The so-called Thirty-Six Heavenly Spirits and Seventy-Two Earthly Fiends were never the stars of heroic outlaws.

They were seals holding back ancient evils.

Half of the 108 heroes had already been replaced by the uncanny.

Those still alive were slowly becoming “inhuman.”

Lin Yi gripped the iron spear he used in his act. A panel appeared before his eyes, visible only to him:

[Demon-Slaying Points: 127]

[Basic Saber Technique] Proficiency: 872/1000 (Breakthrough available)

[Maoshan Heart Mantra] Proficiency: 456/1000 (Minor Achievement)

[New mission unlocked: Kill Your Father]

Slay the uncanny, and you can earn points to grow stronger.

But Lin Yi soon discovered that

the more he killed, the farther he drifted from being human.

Every time he slew an uncanny creature, another line of gray text appeared on the panel:

“You are becoming the very thing you hate.”
