NBA: Dynasty Countdown

I transmigrated into the NBA, but instead of becoming a star, I became the Clippers’ performance consultant: an Asian nerd.

Doc Rivers mocked me for doing nothing but pore over spreadsheets, Kawhi Leonard could barely be bothered to acknowledge me, and the whole league was waiting to laugh at me.

Until I predicted the exact day the Kawhi-and-PG duo would be hit by injuries, right in front of Ballmer.

Until I used a “back-to-back rotation model” to turn 34-year-old Rondo into the NBA Finals MVP.

Until, on the eve of Game 7, I used three tactical win-probability forecasts to get Doc Rivers kicked off the coaching staff.

They said I was ruining the purity of basketball.

I smiled and lifted my third O’Brien Trophy.

“Sorry. Dynasties aren’t built on the court. They’re calculated.”

Not reborn, not a superstar, no grandstanding, just face-slapping.
