Straight Man’s Substitute Marriage: My Scheming Archenemy Is All an Act

After the Xia family goes bankrupt, Xia Xingye, a sports student with an eight-pack, is forced to put on a wig and take his runaway sister’s place, marrying Lu Yuan, a business magnate.

To make matters worse, Lu Yuan is the sworn enemy he couldn’t stand in high school!

For a fifty-million fee, Xia Xingye grits his teeth and joins his nemesis on a dating reality show, beginning a bizarre life together.

In front of the cameras, he puts on a show of being a delicate, dependent wife. When they run into a terrifying NPC, he’s about to throw a punch when he suddenly remembers his persona and screams, darting away instead.

Who would have thought that the six-foot-two Lu Yuan would take the opportunity to hide in his arms, his voice trembling? “Xingye, I’m scared. Protect me.”

Xia Xingye: “? What the hell are you acting all helpless for!”

Off camera, Xia Xingye carries a water cooler with one hand and strides along as if it weighs nothing.

The whole internet goes wild: “Holy crap! Mr. Xia must be getting worked to death! Lu Yuan, act like a human being!”

Six months later, their contract expires.

Xia Xingye tears off his wig, revealing his solid abs, and sneers arrogantly. “Lu Yuan, you big idiot! I’m a man! I’ve been playing daddy to you every day for six months, and I’ve had enough!”

He expects to see his nemesis’ entire worldview collapse.

Instead, the supposedly “delicate” older man calmly takes off his tie, his gaze as dangerous as a wolf’s.

“Finally dropped the act?” Lu Yuan pins him against the wall. “Then let’s see who’s really out of shape.”

That night, Xia Xingye cries: “What happened to being timid and frail? This is a scam!”
