I Went on a Blind Date for My Roommate, Then Took In an Amnesiac Tycoon

[Online romance + double substitutes + hiding identities + love that grows over time]

After He Manli's parents divorced, neither of them wanted her. She lived with her grandparents, scraping by on student loans and part-time jobs, so she was determined to marry up and rise above her station.

When she learned that her roommate had been using her name to make money through online dating, she stopped pretending.

She went to meet her roommate's online date in her place, only to discover that the guy had been using photos of Duan Lüqing, the son of a tycoon and his best friend's best friend. The moment they met, she punched the tycoon, leaving him in a vegetative state. She had trained in boxing, after all!

To save him, He Manli worked herself to the bone to scrape together his medical bills.

When the tycoon woke up, he had amnesia and become an idiot. Clutching her sleeve, he said timidly, “Honey, don't worry. I'll definitely remember you.”

He Manli took him to stay for a while in her moldy rental apartment.

At last, He Manli got rid of the big idiot and landed a high-paying winter-break job as a secretary.

When HR brought her in to meet the boss, He Manli dropped to her knees on the spot.

Sitting beside the desk in a perfectly tailored suit, a pale-gold watch peeking out from beneath his cuff, the handsome boss had an air of refined restraint. Wasn't he the big idiot she'd sent back?

The good news: the boss had lost his memory again. He still couldn't remember anything about the year he'd been missing.

A little side story:

Duan Lüqing was shocked to find a chubby little toddler at home.

He called his friend, frantic with annoyance. “This is so annoying! My parents had another baby.”

One day, he came home to find the toddler waving little arms like lotus roots. “Ah, da-da!”

Duan Lüqing put on a stern, dismissive face. “I'm not your dad. I'm your big brother.”

Until the toddler called his secretary: “Mom.”

A group of elders hid nearby, whispering among themselves: The little one is so pitiful. It looks like the father won't remember, so maybe we should do something to give him a push...
