Northwestern Folk Occult Arts

His father, Chen Shouyi, is a reclusive yin-yang master in the village. He has no signboard, never goes to market, and keeps a low profile. He only handles funerals, chooses burial sites, calls back souls and drives away evil spirits, breaks ghost walls, resolves clashes of bad luck and spirit possession, and wards off evil in homes for people in his village and nearby mountain villages. He is well-versed in the Northwest's native folk arts and secret techniques, and carries on his master's lineage. He follows the rules of the trade and has his principles. He keeps old grudges and the secrets of his master's school buried in his heart, and refuses at all costs to let Chen Niansheng enter this line of work.
