Du Lisan, the Fierce Bandit of Western Liaoning

In the chaotic final years of the Qing dynasty, war fires spread across western Liaoning. The young Du Lisan, bearing the burden of a family vendetta, cuts a striking figure in silk and fine clothes, riding with twin pistols. Proud and fearsome, he establishes his base at Sanjiegou and dominates the Liao River region, laying down rules for the outlaw brotherhood: leave ordinary people alone, punish corrupt officials and tyrannical gentry, and resist foreign invaders with courage. People call him the Emperor on Horseback. Caught between the authorities, Russia and Japan, and the outlaw brotherhood, he becomes sworn brothers with Zhang Zuolin, only to later clash with him. But his loyalty and misplaced trust lead him into a trap disguised as an offer of amnesty. The legendary outlaw hero of the Northeast meets a tragic end, leaving a tale that lives on.
