The Marriage Arrangement I Was Forced to Take Over

Synopsis

The year Xia Xiaowan turned eighteen, her adoptive father hid her university acceptance letter and tried to marry her off to the village’s old bachelor for a bride price of two hundred thousand yuan. On a stormy night, Auntie Li, her neighbor, revealed the secret: Xiaowan had been abandoned as a baby, and her birth mother had been searching for her for eighteen years. As she searched for her family, Xiaowan discovered she had a twin sister, and that her biological father belonged to a wealthy family in the provincial capital. A powerful political marriage was being arranged for her sister, who already loved someone else and refused to go through with it. With both families at an impasse, Xiaowan stared at the face identical to her own and, almost as if possessed, agreed to take her sister’s place. She donned the wedding dress and stepped through the gates of a wealthy family that was never meant to be hers, unaware that an even deeper secret lay behind this case of mistaken identity.
