Senior Year, Class 7: The Last Generation of Legends!

Comedy / School / Youth

Class 7 of Senior Year is known throughout the school as the “Psych Ward Annex,” a magical place that keeps the dean of discipline’s blood pressure in the danger zone for good.

While other classes bury themselves in practice problems, a typical day in Class 7 goes like this:

During the flag-raising ceremony, Ye Sha Xue Wei closes her eyes and focuses, acting out episode 138 of “Awakening the Power of Darkness: Apocalypse Redemption” in her mind. She even names her latest special move “Ashen Skies Annihilation: Overlord of the World.” Her deskmate Jiahao quietly turns on the classroom’s giant screen, gets the whole class analyzing the day’s stock market, then covers his face and sighs, “This body is still too weak.”

There isn’t a normal person in the class.

A self-proclaimed immortal who descended to the mortal realm to undergo trials cries for three whole periods after failing a monthly exam, insisting that “the mortal realm’s trials are rigged.” A classmate who claims to be a jellyfish in human form suddenly collapses during PE, explaining, “I’m dehydrated. I’m about to turn back into jellyfish skin.” And there’s a player who reports progress to thin air every day, supposedly because it’s a daily quest from the System.

As for hacking the homeroom teacher’s account to send the class a mass notice saying they’d been expelled, impersonating the principal to announce a week off, and blowing up the bathroom so it looks like “a heavenly maiden scattering flowers,” those are considered standard practice in their class.

A pack of rowdy nobodies from the backwaters somehow shine through the chaos of senior year. Their meeting wasn’t a case of a lofty mountain meeting a flowing stream, but a true match between equals. It turns out the whole world is one giant psych ward, and they’ve finally found their people in Class 7 of Senior Year.

Everyone takes being absurd seriously and goes crazy with complete conviction. Maybe youth is supposed to be this strange and dazzling.
