Keeping a Low Profile at the Demon Suppression Bureau: Sign In from the Start and Claim the Dragon-Slaying Blade

In the Great Li Dynasty, demons run rampant and human lives are worth less than grass.

The Demon-Suppression Bureau is a place where the living enter and the dead come out. Xu Guan transmigrates into this world and becomes the lowliest clerk in the bureau.

With no martial arts skills and no connections, his job is to register the hideous corpses of demons.

Everyone says the demon morgue is steeped in baleful energy, and anyone who stays too long will go mad. To embezzle compensation money, his superior, Registrar Wang, deliberately locks Xu Guan in the black flood dragon’s morgue and makes him a “scapegoat.”

[Ding! Sign-in successful at the black flood dragon’s corpse. Reward: Dragon-Slaying Saber Technique, Mastery Complete!]

[Ding! Seven consecutive days of sign-in at the demon morgue. Reward: Divine Prison-Bearing Physique!]

From then on, the gloomy demon morgue becomes Xu Guan’s sanctuary.

His superior steals his credit? Demons come for his life? The powerful bring pressure to bear?

Xu Guan silently opens the case files and writes the word “death” beside their names.

Ten years later, the Great Li’s borders crumble and ten thousand demons surround the capital.

As the court officials prepare to abandon the city and flee, a clerk carrying a broken saber walks out of the clerks’ quarters.

“I’ve recorded all your names. No one’s leaving today.”
