An innocent, food-loving swordmaster and a frail yet remarkably capable beauty
Shen Weixi figured out that Xiao Changce was destined to be his match. He was said to be wooden, and Shen Weixi loved watching him get flustered.
The first time they met, Shen Weixi hooked a finger under his chin. “Swordmaster? You’re certainly my type.”
Xiao Changce froze.
Shen Weixi took the jade box from his arms and slipped away with a laugh. “What a lovely flower. I’ll take it.”
Xiao Changce stood rooted to the spot, fists clenched and ears bright red.
He’d been played!
The second time, Shen Weixi offered him a piece of Yunshan cake. “You’ve eaten my cake, so now you have to protect me.”
Xiao Changce stared at the cake, gritted his teeth, and accepted it.
Only after finishing it did he realize he’d agreed to something important.
After being teased so many times, Xiao Changce began looking forward to the next one.
He wondered when Shen Weixi would appear, how he would act, and what he would say.
Soon, that wasn’t enough.
He wanted to stand by Shen Weixi’s side, to be the only one he looked at, to be the one and only person in his heart.
But Shen Weixi merely shrugged. “I just like flirting. I never said I’d take responsibility.”
Xiao Changce looked at him and ground out two words through clenched teeth.
“Too late.”
